Testing, 1 2 3, testing

As we see below, some things don’t look so good for Textile under WordPress 2.0 … or maybe it’s just my current theme. (I still [heart] you, RDC!)

Headers and simple (i.e. unordered) lists turn out okay, but more complex nesting and ordered lists are … well … not so nice. And, as we have seen, Kurtis sometimes makes “silly mistakes”:http://kroon.textdriven.com/2005/07/16/gatekeeper-trois/.

Here’s the Textile test input:

h3. This is a header

Unordered list:
* an item
* another item

Ordered list:
# item 1
# item 2

Here’s a more complex example:
* Item
* Item
## subitem 1
### subitem 1
### subitem 2
## subitem 2
* Item (only bumped up one level)
** how deep
*** can this go?

*Note*: if this had been a real Textile event, you would have been directed to the closest “Textile source”:http://www.textism.com.

Edit, shortly after the fact: The deeper I dug, the less satisfied I became with what Textile was doing. So I disabled it and its variants. I’m an HTML jockey at work—which makes my gaffe on Molly.com even funnier (or sadder, depending on your POV … hey, at least I fessed up …). So, in the spirit of Katzenahrung (that’s German for “cat food” (I don’t like dogs) (thanks, Google Translate)), I shall be eating my own.

I have left the Textile input as-is, since it doesn’t invalidate the page … and because I’m too lazy to go back and fix it. (YMMV)
